For most, Sundays are a day of relaxation. We sleep until noon recovering from the night before trying desperately to push away thoughts of the week ahead. Though this might seem like the best way to spend your Sunday after a long week, it may not be the most productive. I’ve compiled a list of 8 things successful people do on Sundays to make Monday a little easier.
1. Make a to-do list
Sundays are a time to look at your calendar with intention, and plan for the week ahead. Do you need to add or remove anything to your schedule? Is there any projects you are going to need to get started on? Even if it is just 15 minutes of your day, you will never regret taking steps to make your week ahead easier. Sundays are the perfect time to get your tasks listed out and your thoughts in order.
Though it seems like a time-consuming task, you will thank yourself Monday morning when you sleep in too late and are running to the office. Meal prepping assures you will eat healthy meals throughout the week instead of grabbing unhealthy snacks on the go. It also saves money instead of eating out for lunch! There are tons of easy meal prep recipes you can find on Pinterest.
Sundays are typically for relaxing- believe me I get it. But they’re also for recharging and getting your mind and body in a great place for the start of your week. Exercising can be as simple as walking the dog or taking a hike with your family. The endorphins you get from exercising will help release anxiety and put you in a great mood for Monday.
4.Take time for you
Sundays are a day for you to do something you don’t normally get the chance to during the week. Take this time to indulge in some of your passions. Whether its painting, reading, or cooking, you will feel more fulfilled after you’ve done something you truly enjoy.
Although this isn’t everyone’s favorite task, you’d be lying if you said you didn’t love starting the week with a clean room. Even if you don’t clean the entire house, just taking 15 minutes to do something to make you feel more organized for the week can make a huge difference. Cleaning your desk, doing the laundry, or organizing a drawer can all be a great start.
6.Relax & Spend time with family and friends
When I was younger, I grew up learning that Sundays were a time to spend with family. It brought us closer as a family and I continue this in my life today. Its important to take time out of your week to spend with the people you care about most and Sunday is the perfect day. Make a point to plan fun adventures and outings with your family and friends on your Sundays.
7.Plan Something fun
With another long week ahead, Sundays can quickly become dreary. An easy way to avoid the Monday blues is to plan something fun for the next week. This could be date night with your man, a night out with the girls, or even shopping with your family. Having something to look forward to will keep you going throughout the week and keep your spirits up during a busy work week.
8.End on a high note
The best cure for the Monday blues is to end your Sunday on a high note. This could mean eating dinner with your family, catching up with friends or even watching your favorite movie. Whatever it is, make sure you end your Sunday with something you truly enjoy doing.
